New Staff Email Information – January 2019

Before accessing the instructions for the new email you must read the following:

  • We have officially moved our email to Office 365.  Our internal server had an unrecoverable outage on Christmas day.
  • Your email address remains the same, but you will now use the Office 365 portal to access your email online.
  • As of now you still have access to your onmicrosoft accounts (if you had one) but they will be deleted sometime in the near future. I am working on a solution where any of your files in OneDrive can be automatically sent to your new account. 
  • There may be some email between December 22nd and January 1st that have been lost.  Our filtering company (Tangent) has been very helpful in diligently trying to keep things backed up during this outage, but there is no way they could hold everything for various technical reasons. 
  • Your email boxes have been active and receiving mail since about 5:45 pm Tuesday evening. However, it took us some time to make them accessible by you and not just from an administrative account.  
  • Starting about 11:15 this morning our filtering company started sending the email they held into our boxes.  Unfortunately, unless the text email itself states the date it was sent there’s no way of knowing the original send date.  It all shows a date and time of today.  I still have email coming in in waves about 15 minutes apart so you may not have everything until sometime tomorrow.
  • For right now I only have instructions for web access.  I just want to get everyone in and started going through the mail that you have.  Instructions for phones and Outlook are coming.
  • I have one more big step to do first thing in the morning with WT Services and then I will be able to give you instructions on how to set up Outlook.
  • **IMPORTANT** The email that you currently can see on your computer version of Outlook will NOT show up in your new mailbox yet. Same with the mail you may have on your phone.  Here is some general information for now:
    • Desktop version of Outlook: If you used this regularly everything you received before you shut down your computer for Christmas break is completely recoverable. This DOES include attachments.  Instructions will be available at a later time.
    • Mail on your Phone App:  This mail isn’t recoverable as a whole message, but you will be able to read your mail and copy/paste any information needed into an email from your personal account and send it to yourself. This DOES NOT include attachments.
    • Web Version of Outlook:  If you only accessed your email through the web portal then you will not be able to recover any of your previous email.  When you use the web portal your information is only stored on the server.  Since our server is unrecoverable, the data is not available.
