| YOU HAVE DECIDED FLYING A PLANE LOOKS TO BE MUCH MORE EXCITING THAN DRIVING A CAR. SO INSTEAD OF TAKING DRIVERS EDUCATION TO EARN A DRIVERS LICENSE LIKE ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS YOU HAVE DECIDED TO TAKE FLYING LESSONS AND LEARN TO PILOT A PLANE. |

| YOUR PARENTS ARE
CONCERNED THAT YOU'VE CHOSEN TO DITCH THE DRIVERS ED AND GO STRAIGHT TO
FLYING LESSONS. BEFORE THEY AGREE TO THIS THERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT
THEY HAVE ASK YOU TO DO. YOU SHOULD GAIN INFORMATION ON HOW A
PLANE WORKS AND MAKE AN ILLUSTRATION OF THE 3 AXIS OF A PLANE. YOU WILL
ALSO MAKE A PAPER PLANE AND SHOW YOUR ABILITIES AT FLYING IT IN A
CLASSROOM COMPETITION. RESEARCH AN ASSIGNED PILOT AND DESIGN A POWER
POINT PRESENTATION FOR YOUR CLASS.

| THESE STEPS MUST BE
COMPLETED BEFORE YOU CAN EARN YOUR PILOTS LICENSE.
1. ON A SHEET OF PAPER MAKE A LIST OF EVERYTHING YOU CAN THINK OF THAT CAN FLY. COMPARE THOSE THAT SEEM TO FLY AND THOSE THAT SEEM TO FLOAT. 2. ILLUSTRATE ON A PIECE OF 9X12 SHEET ONE ITEM THAT YOU LISTED ON #1. 3. EXPLORE THE 3 AXIS OF MOTION OF AN AIRPLANE. ILLUSTRATE AND LABEL THE 3 AXIS OF MOTION ON A PIECE OF POSTER BOARD TO BE DISPLAYED. 4. DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT A PAPER AIRPLANE USING THE INFORMATION YOU GAINED IN STEP 3. 5. THE CLASS WILL CONDUCT A PAPER AIRPLANE FLYING CONTEST TO SEE WHOSE PLANE CAN FLY THE FAREAST. 4. THE CLASS WILL BE
DIVIDED INTO 3 GROUPS AND EACH GROUP WILL BE ASSIGNED A PILOT OR PILOTS
TO RESEARCH; THE WRIGHT BROTHERS, AMELIA EARHEART, OR CHARLES LINDBERGH.
YOUR GROUP WILL DESIGN AND PRESENT A POWER POINT PRESENTATION TO THE
OTHER CLASS MEMBERS. THE POWER POINT PRESENTATION SHOULD COVER
