INTRODUCTION
BUFFALO BOB BIVINS  HAS BEEN HIRED AS AN INTERN FOR HIS UNCLE, SENATOR TEEL BIVINS. ''BUFF'' WILL BE LEAVING FOR AUSTIN IN SEPTEMBER AND WILL ALSO BE ATTENDING THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS. BUFFALO BOB DOES NOT KNOW A GREAT DEAL ABOUT TEXAS GOVERNMENT OR TEXAS. HE WILL BE ACCESSING HIS COMPUTER FOR MUCH NEEDED INFORMATION ABOUT TEXAS GOVERNMENT AND ABOUT THE GREAT STATE OF TEXAS. YOU WILL BE HELPING  BUFFALO BOB BY DOING YOUR OWN SEARCHES ON TEXAS GOVERNMENT  AND THE STATE OF TEXAS . IN OTHER WORDS, YOU ARE GOING TO BE BUFFALO BOB'S AIDE. SO FLEX THOSE FINGERS AND GET READY FOR A BIG ''BYTE'' OF TEXAS AND TEXAS GOVERNMENT.

TASK

BUFFALO BOB HAS BEEN ACCEPTED AT THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AND YOU WILL HELP HIM FIND HIS WAY ON CAMPUS BY LOCATING A MAP OF THE IMPORTANT BUILDINGS AND PARKING AREAS.

YOU WILL BE IN A GROUP OF THREE AND YOU WILL DESCRIBE THE STRUCTURE AND FUNCTIONS OF TEXAS GOVERNMENT AT THE STATE LEVEL.  YOUR  GROUP WILL DESIGN AND PREPARE A FLOW CHART OF   THESE ELECTED OFFICIALS.

THE CLASS WILL ROLE PLAY ''HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW'' BY ASSEMBLING INTO MEMBERS  OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES AND THE SENATE. EACH GROUP WILL FORM AND INTRODUCE  FIVE BILLS.

SENATOR BIVINS HAS REQUESTED THAT BUFFALO BOB CREATE  A PAMPHLET REPRESENTING  THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS.   BUFF HAS DECIDED TO ATTEND THE ''MOONLIGHT PROWL.'' THIS INFORMATION WILL HELP HIM IN CREATING AN EXCELLENT PAMPHLET.

JUST FOR FUN! ACCESS TEXAS BEST  WEBSITE. AFTER YOU HAVE READ THE TEXAS FACTS, EACH STUDENT WILL TEST THEIR KNOWLEDGE OF TEXAS BY TAKING THE TEXAS TRIVIA QUIZ.
