                                                                                Introduction

In the last few months we have seen fuel prices for our automobiles skyrocket. We have also seen an increase in natural gas . I am sure you have heard your parents talk about their fuel bills the past several months. With the increases in fuel prices, and the possibility of running out of fossil fuels in the near future, it is important that we learn more about energy. We will look at the different energy sources and how to conserve this energy.

The Task

We will use the internet to research renewable and non renewable energy sources.  When we complete this, we will compare and contrast the two energy groups.  During this time you will make a model of one of two projects. Your first choice is to make a model explaining how electricity is made.  Your second choice is to make a model showing how electricity is moved from the electrical plant to your home.  The final project will be a poster board.  You and your group members will choose an energy source that best suits the Texas Panhandle.  The energy you choose will need to satisfy your energy needs for several hundred years in the future.  You will also explain why you did not choose the other seven energy sources, and explain why you choose the one you did.

Conclusion

We use energy for just about everything from heating our homes to running our cars.  We also know that in the near future some fossil fuels will be gone.  It will be up to you and the next few generations to solve our energy needs. With the information we have learned we should be able to make better energy decisions.
